Visual Impairment

Visual impairment is a significant health problem in the African Region. The major eye conditions include cataracts, uncorrected refractive errors, glaucoma, age-related muscular degeneration, corneal oppacities, diabetic Retinopathy, trachoma and onchocerciasis. There is overwhelming demand for treatment since most of the people can’t afford this and mostly prioritise on meeting basic needs. We organised a visual checkup with district opticians in the region and a donation of more than 1, 700 pairs of glasses were given out.
